Now here is a hot rockin' singer from the '80's!! This chick can really belt it out. This Canadian rocker was one of the best acts around back in the day and her live shows were quite an inspiration to all aspiring female singers at the time. Lee exhibits very sultry vocal lines as well as the occasional scream that is reminiscent of the great Janis Joplin!! The band is very tight and borders on the line of blues based riffing and heavy metal arpeggios that flow like a meandering river. A well put together album with very memorable melody and vocal lines. I would have to say that this is one of Lee Aarons best work and her best band. If you like women rockers, then look no further...this is your lady!! This CD is a must have.

Here I am reviewing this album more than three decades after it was released. I first heard Lee Aaron on the classic compilation called "Hit Parader: The Wild Bunch - 18 Metal Masters!" (1985). Half of the songs, including Metal Queen, are classic metal cuts. In the mid 1990s I bought her best of compilation, Powerline, but I did not care for most of it because of the poppier commercial direction she decided to take. I completely lost interest in her partly due to harsh words from metal sage critic Martin Popoff, a fellow Canadian who gave one of her albums 0/10 (a bit harsh, Martin lol). For some reason recently I was craving more metal from my favorite year for metal, 1984. I always loved the sound of the guitars on the song Metal Queen and I discovered that most of the songs on the album were co-written by guitarist George Bernhardt (Hanover Fist) and much of the lead guitar was provided by John Albani who played in a good Canadian band I recently discovered called Wrabit. So I bought the album and I am pleasantly surprised. I like most of the songs especially Got To Be The One, Deceiver, Steal Away Your Love, Hold Out, and the title track of course. Overall the album is heavier than I expected and I love the crunching riffs and fiery solos, not shred guitar but piercing melodic licks from the early 80s! The beautiful Lee sings like a Metal Queen on all of these tracks. I'm glad I finally got this even though three decades have passed by.

but.... I would give this 5 stars because I love this album. The only thing I am mad about is the the prices they are offering for the CD. I got mine for $16 but I am just aggravated because of the prices people want for this CD. ITS A CD, NOT SOME ULTRA RARE PICTURE DISC VINYL OF THIS ALBUM. Don't waste $2,000 for this CD. You could find this CD in perfect condition at small business record stores for as low as $7. I got mine off of Amazon for $16 but I have seen this CD a million times at record stores. Trust me, $2,000 is not worth the money.

I really wish I could rate higher but there is no imagination with this cd...it is everything one can hate about the 80's.I think a 13 yr old could write better lyrics. Don't waste your money, not even for nostalgia sake, and lets hope she fares better at jazz as she has a great voice.

I was curious to hear this album I have listened to Doro, Lita, ect. I was really shocked! This is a punch you in the face METAL album. This chic has an excellent voice and the music is pretty cool too. If you don't have this get it. I promise you won't be disappointed. 80's metal rules.

I already have this on vinyl but having it on cd is better for me to play it. It was fantastic to hear it again after so long. I love the ladies of rock and Lee was one of the first ones I discovered. She has really powerful vocals. If you like 80's metal you can't go wrong with this!
