It's pathetically weak and underpowered, even for basic applications, and can hardly run YouTube videos at the natively capped 780 resolution.

The 32GB SSD is nowhere big enough, even for Linux. Overall, some customers feel that the laptop has very little room.

Pros:
-Very small and lightweight. I can easily lift it with one hand.
-Aesthetically pleasing design. I love the purple color and the finish.
-Small design makes it very portable. Easy to fit into backpacks or briefcases.
-Relatively fast computer, takes no time to startup/shutdown.
-Good keyboard
Cons:
-Speakers are pretty quiet and poor quality. Recommend using headphones for watching movies/listening to music.
-Webcam is also subpar and pretty grainy.
-Touchpad can be finicky, using a wireless mouse with it is really easy though.
-32GB hard drive can support the operating system and not much else. That being said, a $20 64GB microSD will resolve this issue.
This computer was kind of slow when I first got it. Here's what I did to make it fast:
1. Remove ALL bloatware. Uninstall Apple Bonjour, LEAP, McAfee Antivirus, HP Support & Registration, browser extensions, etc.
2. Installed all updates for Windows Update (took almost an hour). Then, disabled automatic updates. Running Windows Update in the background will overload the processor.
3. Installed CCleaner and cleaned up cache/registry
4. Installed Google Chrome and used it instead of Edge/IE
Accessories I bought:
-Logitech Wireless Mouse: Works great with this computer. The little wireless fob discreetly stays in the USB port.
-Evecase works great for taking this computer and accessories on the go.
-64GB microSD card to expand the storage space. I changed the settings so pretty much everything gets saved on there. Doesn't slow down the computer or saving at all.
Overall, this computer is ideal for school and work, emails, and browsing the internet. That being said, it's great at doing those things. I think it's an excellent value for the price!
Their school has been supplying chromebooks for use in class, and I considered this initially. After doing some research, I found those to be limited in what can be installed. Plus I've been a microsoft guy for years and wanted a laptop that would run windows. After several days of research, video reviews, going hands on with display models at my local big box store, I went with the Stream. Couldn't be happy.
The positives:
1) Compact - this is very easy for the kids to carry around and fits easily in their backpacks. It's body is all plastic, but still feels substantial.
2) Nice keyboard - short travel on the keystrokes and quick recovery. Plus a relatively large keyboard for the size of the system. I have larger hands (size 8 gloves) and can still type comfortably
3) My girls love the look. Bright colors and contemporary molding. It's a nice looking machine.
4) Surprisingly snappy processor. I'm used to an i7 in my own laptop, but once properly setup it's very responsive, provided you're using it as intended (definitely not for gaming :) )
The meh
1) Screen is so-so. Color reproduction is dark and hard to calibrate to a decent gamma. Not a problem for word processing and spreadsheets, but wouldn't be my first choice if doing any photo editing.
2) Touchpad isn't great. It seems overly sensitive when I accidentally bump it while typing, and then it's sluggish and not very accurate when actually trying to use it. Spend $20, get a good wireless mouse. (here's a logitech once that matches the blue system nicely: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZYK2KJA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )
3) Processor is a celeron. For the cost, this is not a bad cpu but it's really limited if you're doing anything beyond your typical school related tasks. Word processing, web browsing, spreadsheets, presentations? Works perfectly. Photo editing - not really. Video editing - don't even try.
4) Tiny, tiny flash drive. The 32GB flash boots quickly, but there isn't much room for anything else after the OS. Luckily, the MicroSD slot on the 11" allows the card to be flush to the side, so you can leave it permanently installed as a secondary HDD. I picked up 128GB and configured windows to save/install/add everything to it.
5) Bloatware - It's an HP, it's going to come loaded with unnecessary programs. This is likely the main problem in all the other reviews complaining about the speed of the computer. Remove them all. All HP programs, McAfee, bonjour, etc... Once all the bloat is removed, it boots quickly and it's a great little system. Also, drop Edge and download Chrome or Firefox. Both are much more suited to the processor.
In all this is a solid little system that does a very good job at what it's designed to do. Just don't expect it to do anything more.
A word about installing anything else but Windows: To get into the BIOS, you need to hit the Escape key. Once in, you will need to turn off the TPM ("trusted" computing module). Another plus for the BIOS is that it still supports legacy booting if you need it.
I set up the laptop to be a media player, and with the Parole player running (along with a terminal) and the computer is using 423MB of RAM. Eventually I replaced Parole with Audacious. Xubuntu uses about 5.6GB total disk space in its current configuration. When first installed, it used a little over 6GB. The "disk" drive is listed as a 30GB drive, with 500MB used for the UEFI boot partition, leaving 29.5GB for the OS, programs, and data.
In other works, Linux doesn't stress the little bugger very much. It's fine for office use, browsing, e-mail, and light to moderate graphics use. That said, the screen is about as cheap as you will find. The keyboard was a rather pleasant surprise, though. The touch pad is small but properly responsive. The whole thing is very plasticky, but it works.
As for the Windows version bundled with this laptop. What little use I made of it revealed a bloated, slow system, crippled to the point of unusability. If you want to run Windows, double the RAM and hard disk space, and get an i5 CPU. In other words, don't get this machine.

Su uso principal es para trabajo en línea, ya que realizar algún guardado en la memoria es imposible por el espacio insuficiente.
El equipo funciona adecuadamente y si además se agrega una memoria externa esta ayuda a solventar el problema de espacio.
