Gameplay aside, the issue here is really calling this a 'remaster', which seems to be more of a cash grab with minimal effort put in. There are a number of issues with this:
-The backgrounds are lazily upscaled. Like many RPG's from this era, the game utilized 3D characters on 2D backgrounds for performance reasons. They obviously just took the existing backgrounds and upscaled them with a basic filter, and the result is a soft, blurry image. This clashes pretty badly with the clean, sharp new character models.
-The overworld, which is fully 3D, looks untouched from the ps1 version. the polygons are extremely blocky with very low-resolution textures. It honestly looks wore than if you were playing it on a ps1. The 3D battle scenes also tend to suffer from the same texturing.
-The only thing that really seems to be remastered is most of the character and enemy models. And they are remastered to a ps2-ish level of fidelity. Obviously it doesn't make sense to make them too high quality, but they already clash with the backgrounds, so it doesn't really matter either way. Perhaps a more ideal solution would be to to upscale the textures sharper (although blockier instead of blurry) and give the option to lower the character resolution to better match them.
The only real benefit to playing this version is that you can take advantage of the 'boosters' if you want. These are essentially built in cheats to speed up the game, avoid battles, or boost your stats. And for people who didn't enjoy the battle system, and want to experience the story, this might make the game more playable.
Overall, I would still have to recommend playing the original over this if you can. Otherwise, this is still a satisfactory, but flawed way to play the game.

Sarò di parte ma io lo adoro, grafica migliorata e fluidità. E' un gioco che girava su playstation 1 ma lo adoro.
