Each track can stand on its own as a classic, and I can honestly say there is not one sound of dubbing, electronica and canned "music" that fills the airways today. These songs reflect deep emotional honesty and clarity, and the maturity of a life spent playing huge arenas and stadiums, to smaller and more intimate settings where his timeless voice can take flight as he shares the stage with guitar genius Mike K. Dawes and keyboardist and brilliant artist in her own right, Julie Ragins. You will want to play this CD over and over again, and add it to your list of favorites for years to come. Whatever you do today, buy this amazing CD and relax, open your mind and drift. "The Wind of Heaven" wraps things up in a lovely bow; the theme for an independent movie by David Minasian and follows the story of a war veteran in search of the life he lost. Brilliant.
Although nine solo albums are represented on the cover, not all albums contribute a song in this collection. Its not exactly a greatest hits package. There is the first big hit, “Blue Guitar” and a nice live version (pared down) of “Nights In White Satin” with great vocals. The album, “A View From The Hill” is represented by three contributions such as the sprightly, “Troubadour” and the absolutely lovely, “Broken Dream”.
The liner notes are sufficient enough to tell a little bit about each song, including the surprising, “Forever Autumn”. “The Story In Your Eyes” is presented by a wonderful acoustic and sparse orchestral arrangement and “The Best Is Yet To Come” is also a beautiful ballad. Only “Raised On Love” is mildly grating with a coarse choral arrangement. For good closures, “The Western Sky” does well, but its the last song, at seven-and-a-half minutes, “The Wind Of Heaven” that pulls all of Hayward's strengths together with a complex yet subdued atmosphere. The arrangement is gorgeous.

Si potrà anche ascoltare qualche cover di successi internazionali, come "The best is yet to come" o "Vincent , ben rivisitati sempre in chiave melodica.
