Product Description

Water lettuce provides a floating rosette of attractive foliage that resembles lettuce. The plants float in ponds and water features, forming dense clumps of leaves. The leaves remain dry while the long roots dangle freely in the water. The plants shade the water and the floating roots leach nutrients from the pond. Water lettuce grows naturally as a tropical perennial. In colder climates, grow the plant as an annual or bring it indoors to overwinter. Your fish will love them. They will appreciate the shade, shelter, and food provided. Increases oxygen in the water. They grow extremely fast, especially with lots of sun exposure. They are 100% chemical free and are fish safe. These plants prefer calm waters. Place them away from waterfalls or water currents or they can perish. Koi fish will eat these plants so if you are not planning to feed your fish with this plant do not buy.

Nice Plant!!

Nice Plant!!
So I bought this plant, thinking it would be a lovely addition to my 55 gallon. When it arrived in the mail, I had no idea it would be so big and tall! And a crazy root system, very thick and bushy. A were of the outside leaves were brown and yellowish, just on the tips though, nothing serious. But the plant itself was very green, with thick beautiful leaves and even came with a little baby plant on the side. I think it was just a runner that broke off because the full size one had a runner on it. That's pretty much three plants I got for five bucks. Pretty sweet. The only thing I would note for this ewanting to buy this plant, don't buy it for your aquarium, this is a pond plant, and I didn't realize it like I should of. Unless you really want this plant, be ready to lower your water line, because that was my situation. This plant was huge, and would be way too close to the lights I have arching over my tank. So I lowered the water level about 3 inches, and its doing quite fine after a whole week now. This plant is a nutrient hog as well, so remember that for your other plants. Also don't let those leaves get wet! The leaves will begin to decay where it was wet. Be careful with it drifting near the filter output. I had modify my filter.

1.0 out of 5 stars snail infested
Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2023
DON’T GET THIS. not only did it die, (in my very well established tank, photo added) when i got this product i looked around and didn’t find anything on it. upon putting it in my tank, it started a snail infestation that got out of hand within 2 weeks. i killed all the snail egg bunches i found as soon as i started noticing them and still have literally tens of hundreds of snails in my tank and im 120% sure it was this product that caused it because i didn’t put anything else in my tank, this was the one and only thing. don’t get these unless you want to waste your money, have an overpopulation of snails, and have to manually remove them everyday for 3 weeks. those photos were taken 3 separate times but i’ve had to do this everyday in order to get the numbers down and i can still see them all over my plants and substrate.

5.0 out of 5 stars IT'S CHONKY!
Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2020
YEARS... of trying to get this plant locally, years of giving up and ordering it online to receive some dead shrivel of the tiniest sample of lettuce possible. I literally film every time I open a plant or fish delivery since most of the time they come dead and I have to send the video to get a refund..... BUT.....
THAT ENDED YESTERDAY! Despite USPS trying to kill it by delaying the mail A WEEK... it arrived (a little hurt) but SHES GORGEOUS! The most sizable hunk of lettuce, healthy roots, I'm actually a little sad I didn't order more but NEVER have I had a successful water lettuce delivery and was dipping my toes in (assuming I was going to have to ask for a refund). I was so excited I didn't quarantine and just chucked it in to my tank make sure the shipping recovery goes smooth.... so we will see if THAT was a mistake (hopefully not... eeppp) But so far, Fantastic... You have made me the happiest ever 10/10 will order more if this chonk doesn't start sprouting babies soon. Terrible photo of my 7 inch goldfish for scale LOL
