I have owned this Garmin Edge 25 for about two months and it has worked perfectly. It did flake out a little on me after one of the software updates but after I reloaded the software again, it was good to go.
The unit is the same size as a wrist watch but a little bit thicker. I'm sure this model is an adaptation of Garmin's wristwatch models for runners. (That adaptation probably explains the one mile and five mile lap function which is not useful to a cyclist because no one rides precisely those distances but seems useful to runners.)
The screen is very easy to read. You can flip between a clock, a 2-line data screen, 3-line data screen, a very rough map when you reload and follow a course, pacing for the preloaded course and heart rate functions if you buy the optional heart rate sensor as well as cadence sensor. (I did not buy those.) There is a beep when you flip between screens (which you can shut off) and the buttons are large enough that even a gloved finger can press them. Plus the button give you a tactile response when you click them.
The unit is very accurate in recording GPS. In addition to using American GPS, it also uses Russian GLONASS if you turn it on in the setup. There have been no problems with the data uploaded to Strava and Garmin Connect. It seems to have no problem matching me up with Strava segments although I rarely pay attention to them.
It was very simple to setup and configure this unit. It usually acquires the GPS satellites immediately after it is powered up.
If you turn on the Bluetooth, the unit will automatically upload to Garmin and Strava at the end of the ride by using the Garmin app on your smartphone. The Bluetooth also will display caller ID and text message alerts from your cell phone. The Bluetooth function also allows friends and family to know your location while you are riding if you send them an invite to do so. Great for letting your spouse know where you are or if you want to meet up with someone while you are out riding.
The battery seems more than sufficient for the average bike ride of 1 to 3 hours. I ran my for 9 hours one day with no problem. If you ride longer than that, you may want to consider another solution.
It charges with a USB plug that plugs into your computer. It does not have a standard USB style jack on the GPS side but it does have special contacts. I think it was developed this way to prevent dirt and moisture from getting in the unit and to save on size and weight.
This unit is not for the needless data nerd or the geek that wants a tablet sized computer to show a color map on their handlebars. I carry a smartphone in my bike jersey pocket and I can always pull that out if I need to look something up on a map or get directions. I noticed Google maps will give an auditory direction without the screen on, if needed. Pop in an earphone and Google lady can tell me when I need to turn. No need to carry another $500 computer on my handlebars.
I am very happy with this computer and I plan on using it for many years to come.
I ride a lot (for someone with an active family and a full time job) and I am a data analyst.
Data is important to me. It's really easy to get caught up in the data available these days. Barometers, power meters, live segment alerting, etc. But I finally decided on the data that matters to me. Heart rate, speed, distance, and cadence. I'm in my 40's and just started cycling. I'm never going to compete with 20 year olds and their KOM's. Seeing the heartbreak live isn't going to help
I cycle to get in better shape. And it's working. As such I'm not really concerned with power metering. A major advantage of the 520. I would be if accurate power metering is a lot more affordable, but I can buy a decent used mountain bike to take out on some trails when road cycling gets boring for the cost of power meters. Heart rate data is good enough for me.
As far as GPS goes, I really don't ride anywhere I would benefit from having a map. I did map out a course in Garmin connect on roads I was not at all familiar with and the turn-by-turn prompts that popped up while I was riding easily got me to my destination and back
There is only so much on screen data I can consume while trying to pedal at 95rpm and not get hit by cars. That really boils down to 3 or 4 fields. For me it's speed, cadence, and distance. I broadcast my heart rate from my forerunner watch so a quick glance at my wrist will give me that info. I like that I can scoll through other screens to see the course info (much better than I thought it would be), elevation, and HR. I also like the buttons so I don't have to worry about my sweaty fingers mucking up the touchscreen or trying to navigate menus with gloves on. The touchscreen compatible gloves take some effort to get in the right spot
As far as things I don't like - well I do wish it was a bit larger. I also really should have gotten the F (out front) mount with it. My old non-logging bike computer was a bit larger and easier to read on the stem than this is. I really like this and am glad I didn't get the 520
TL;DR
PROS
Super easy to use
GPS is accurate, locks fast, and stays locked even on wooded trails
Captures all the data I actually care about. Speed, distance, cadence, heart rate (with additional sensors)
Super easy to pair to sensors and hasn't lost connectivity
Locks on to GPS quick
Coarse queues are actually really helpful and accurate if you have a coarse plotted out beforehand and you stick to it. The queues pop up even when I'm in a data field
Battery life is pretty good. I feel like it could be better though
I can customize what data is on the screen
Course time comparisons to personal records
Quick and seamless bluetooth syncing to Garmin Connect on my smartphone
Garmin Connect plays nice with multiple devices synced to the same account
Cons
The screen is a little small
I wish I could display HR on the one of the data fields instead of on it's own
It's a little expensive compared to the competition. But because I want to use my Garmin Forerunner for HR, I had to stay in the Garmin ecosystem

Simple, intuitive, and responsive. That sums up the Edge 25 for me.
I figured out the buttons in about five seconds and from there I have never been frustrated navigating the menus. I had it set up and synced to my phone / Strava within a couple minutes.
It picks up satellites quickly and performs as advertised. It has 4 data pages total while riding:
1: Time
2: Custom, up to 3 fields
3: Custom, up to 3 fields
4: Heart Rate + HR Zones (HR cannot be displayed on the "Custom" display pages)
I've been super impressed with the unit and really prefer its minimalist design to the larger Edge units. This thing is incredibly small, essentially being a Forerunner watch mounted to your stem. Despite its size I find the Edge very easy to read on the move. It does show a lot less live data than the 520 and other larger units, but I'm too busy soaking in the scenery, and everything is the same once you sync the data to Strava!
Battery life seems to be as advertised, however if you intend to do double centuries you might want to get an Edge 520 which packs an additional 6-7 hours of battery life. Again, the Edge 25 will not sync to a power meter.
