The only negative other than it being only in Japanese is the fact that SEGA for some reason completely blocks the PS4's capture features, so you will not be able to take screenshots, record video, or stream the game.
I've played Yakuza 3 and 4 plus Dead Souls (and Yakuza 5 is announced for western release via PSN YAY!!!!)
Been a huge fan of the series and I picked up a PS4 for other games but while waiting for those games to release I picked this up. My Japanese is meh, I'm fluent in it, but since I moved to the States when I was pretty young and never was forced to learn to read and write (fail) I can't read.
I've gone through about half of the game so far and it's not impossible to manage. There's plenty of translations done already, including the side quests (which I didn't know till recently where I guessed my way through some of them) So if you're a huge fan of the series, and willing to take a bit of a risk with a game go for it. (google it)
The graphics are pretty good, and the little details they included really makes the game feel alive (watch how he climbs up and down stairs, pretty amusing).
Keep in mind for a lot of imported games, Japanese concept is X is no and O is yes. So it's backwards for Western players. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's not a big deal.
You need to know Japanese in order to play this game because they are not bringing it outside of Japan. This is not for someone just beginning Japanese- perhaps somewhere in between intermediate and advanced. The Kanji might bog you down, but a lot of the times they read what is also written. But at times, they do not, so be prepared to have a Kanji dictionary on hand if you don't know enough Kanji! Or ask a Japanese person, whatever is closest cause you won't wanna stop playing!
I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this game! It's the funnest game I've ever owned!!!

The game came early, and it was in top condition. It was sealed too. Great service!
I only wish that they'd release a Western version with English subtitles as the whole thing - as you can probably guess - is in Japanese with only Japanese subtitles.
Still a lot of fun though.
