These have got to be the most comfortable shoe I've ever had in my life. I've got annoyingly troublesome feet - weak ankles from years of twists and sprains, one foot is slightly bigger than the other, there's a small bunion on my left big toe, and I'm prone to planter fasciitis (sorry for the TMI, but I need you, dear readers, to know just how awesome these shoes are). After a long day hike, I know I can usually look forward to pain the next day. But with these shoes, I hiked twice as far as normal and never experienced even so much as a blister. There was no breaking in period - they were comfortable from day 1. Other branded boots I've tried have stiff upper cuffs, so they end up bruising my legs and ankles when tied correctly, or flopping around uselessly when loosened. These boot cuffs are very comfortable, snug enough to provide ankle support but soft enough to move with my stride. Lastly, I waded through a fast running creek, with water up over the top of the shoe, and never felt a drop. I'm sure they wouldn't stand up to being fully submerged, but if you're just splashing over a crossing, these will get you to the other side. Construction is very solid, and the front seam doesn't put pressure on my toes from above. I am absolutely delighted with these boots, and can't wait to see where they take me!

I bought these specifically for a hiking trip. I only had two days to break them in by wearing to work a desk job. They were quite comfortable from day one but I was nervous about getting blisters. After a 7 hour hike on Mt. Washington I did not end up with a single blister.The ankle support saved me a couple of times too. They also have great traction. There were some slippery rocks but these boots handled them like a dream. I couldn't be happier about this purchase. I ordered the same size I wear in athletic sneakers and I had no problem with the fit. I've never had to buy a wide fit, and these felt slightly narrow to me, but not uncomfortable at all. they just hug my foot a little more than my other shoes. Bottom line is that I love these and will be wearing them for all my future hikes. Some people complained that they were not waterproof as advertised. I hiked through a few shallow streams and had perfectly dry feet. If you're traveling through something deeper the water will likely get through the breathable mesh. I don't think they'd do well in snow either, but I haven't tested that theory yet.

These are very well made boots. They are very stiff and do not cushion my foot as much as I had hoped. Be aware that these boots run very small for the size you ordered. I ordered a half size up and they just barely fit. They also run very narrow. I have narrow feet and these were almost too narrow for me. I have to wear very thin socks to wear these boots. They are very well made as I said, but I would not by them again.

Horrible boot on every level.. iT is NOT water proof at all. my feet are soaked with one walk or hike if raining.
they have NO grip whatsoever, I actually slip on any wet surface unless I walk so very carefully if Im on any slanted surface.
I do love the color. buts that's it.
I got them for support after a sprained ankle. but these are very unsafe if you go anywhere on wet ground; concrete or wood or dirt.
I would have gotten my money back but they will not allow it.

Simply the best, most comfortable winter walking shoe I've ever purchased! I walk about 45 miles a week through woodland tracks and chalk downland, and from the start these shoes have been great! Lighter and more flexible than hiking boots, they come up the ankle higher than trainers, and so will get you through all but the deepest mud without getting wet.
As with buying running or trail footwear, I would recommend buying at least one full size bigger than your normal shoe size. I am a UK Size 4.5 but my Merrell shoes are a UK Size 6 and are so comfy. I can't recommend these highly enough.

Tolle Schuhe. Sehr leicht und bequem. Für mich etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, da ich immer Männerstiefel getragen habe. Aber der Schuh passt gut, ich habe Ihn eine Nummer größer gewählt als meine Alltagsschuhe.
Ich habe sie Imprägniert mit Nässeschutz und sie hielten bereits einer Nassen Wiese und auch einem ausgedehnten Regen stand. Ich trage die Schuhe durchgehend bei der Arbeit. Die Füße werden zwar warm aber nicht annähernd so wie in Meindel Stiefeln. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Nachtrag: Ich trage die Schuhe nun schon seit einiger Zeit und muss sagen dass sie zwar einiges an Feuchtigkeit abhalten allerdings keinen Sand. Da ich sie jeden Tag am Strand trage, sind sie für meine Arbeit nicht geeignet. Das Sandproblem ist, dass man den Sand kaum wieder aus den Schuhen entfernen kann. Er rieselt über das Stoffgewebe zwischen die Stoffschicht und die Sohle, sodass er dann gut geschützt Haufen unter den Füßen bildet. Ich habe nun die Stoffschicht unter den Einlegesohlen mit einem Cutter aufgeschlitzt, so kann ich den Sand regelmäßig mit dem Sauger entfernen. Die Schuhe werde ich trotzdem weiter tragen nur eben nicht bei der Arbeit und in sandigen Gebieten!
