Product Description
Product Description
This large folding tactical knife an-swers the call with a big deep-bellied spear-point blade that cuts through anything.
Automated liner safety and a dual hilt blade guard round out the features. This is a knife that’s as specialized as those who use it.
Designed by legendary knifemaker Harold “Kit” Carson of Vine Grove, KY the M21-14SFG offers a combination of Carson Series features requested by military procurement specialists. Being a retired Sgt. Major, Kit was happy to oblige.
This specialty knife features a beast of a blade. Crafted from high carbon stainless steel with our exclusive, patented, Veff Serrations, it’s ideal for cutting rope and fibrous materials dispatching obstacles moments after it’s opened. Add to that a black titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance, and you’re good to go through anything.
A rarity in Special Forces knives, the M21-14SFG also features a dual hilt blade guard to keep you safe during sustained heavy use. It also features our automated liner safety. Automated liner safety is the locking liner safety innovation taken to the next level. The automated liner safety sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use.
To close the knife, pull the red buttoned safety lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position. Want one of the most secure safety systems on the market? The choice is automatic.
You work in all conditions and so should your handle. That’s why we crafted it with an InterFrame build with stainless steel liners and G10 scales. They give you lightweight, unparalleled grip and strength, and also keep your hands cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The more you use it, the more you realize how dialed in this mission ready knife is.
Reach for a Special Forces blade where the only thing special about it is…pretty much everything.

Opening it is fast and solid. The safety lock is cool, because unlike cheaper tactical knifes, you know for sure that blade is locked and ready for action without any chance of the blade closing while in use. The safety button itself seemed well oiled and smooth to quickly disengage the lock with ease. When you shut the blade, there is an audible lock which is very nice. The overall weight and of this knife is fantastic. feels like a very balanced solid knife that you can depend on no matter what the situation is.
The blade is sharp out the box (maybe pros might want to sharpen a little more) and the serrated part of the blade feels like it could skin an animal! I mean you need to be really careful! (as you should be because this is a weapon/tool) That section of the blade in general seems extremely sharp and I'm excited to put it to the test the next time I need to cut something thicker! The rest of the blade is a nice thick size and seems like it could take on a lot.
Overall this knife is comfortable to hold, feels solid and rugged, and operates the way it should. If you are like me and don't want to spend over $45 on a knife, think again. This thing is definitely worth the small investment! As is any weapon or tool, you want quality and functionality. This knife has both and with a sleek design that is comfortable to hold and nice to look at!!!
...and I gotta say...
I was so much more overjoyed when I actually got it in my hand and flicked that puppy open for the first time.
Smooth action.
Solid design.
Proper fear-inspiring affect from sight of blade.
Shave-worthy edge.
Good fit for my gorilla-paw hands.
Be forewarned....if you're a little girly man, or an actual little girly girl, this might not be the knife for you.
This knife is more accommodating to those of larger proportions and, specifically, larger hands.
For years I've been plagued by average sized pocket knives that don't ever really feel right when I grip them. This is far from reality with this knife and, for once, I feel like I have a proper fitting knife in my hand.
Granted, this knife has yet to endure the rigors of pulling duty as MY daily blade but testing will begin tomorrow morning, and you can bet your cute little dainty pocket knife that I'll be back on here if something doesn't hold up on this knife. This is my first CRKT, but something tells me that I won't be back on here anytime real soon.
18DEC12....scratch that....
So, unless you plan on strictly using the serration on this knife for thread cutting, and thread cutting only, I would NOT recommend the version of this knife that carries the "VEFF" serration. Plastic ZIP TIES have damaged the edge on the mighty "VEFF" serration. And I'm not talking about, "oh, the edge doesn't feel as sharp." I'm talking about, "took chunks out of the curves in the serration" kind of damage.
Sure, it looks mighty mean and it would probably slice through tissue & muscle just fine, but it still needs a little fine-tuning in the functionality department. After extensive testing in real-life conditions, I can assure you that the "VEFF" serration is not worth your time.

However, the blade has pretty bad edge retention. After only a couple of weeks I had to sharpen the edge as it was getting blunt. Out of the box the sharpness was good, but nothing special.
das gelieferte messer entspricht nicht dem abgebildeten messer: der griff war ohne perforation und der sägezahn ist völlig anders ausgeprägt. früher lief so etwas unter betrugsversuch.
messer umgehend an den lieferanten zurückgesandt.
