7-11-18 UPDATE: Make sure to boil and soak this wood for a long time. I was soaking it but I kept getting clear slime, so thick it was disgusting, at every water change. Even though the water began to look fairly clear the slime was overwhelming. I researched and found this could be some sort of algae that MIGHT not hurt my fish but I can be certain it would cause some challenges due to the consistency, very thick. Still love the look but just warning others to make sure all the slime is eradicated before putting it in your tank. The slime is clear so you would not notice it until you start to see problems in your tank. I am boiling mine and will soak it, changing water twice a day, for a few weeks before I introduce it to my aquarium. Sadly, if I cannot eradicate this slime I may not ever add it to my aquarium, but again, it is stunning visually.
7-15-18 UPDATE. I did boil my two pieces I ordered. The 1st pc was so beautiful I had to get another 1. After boiling then soaking in cool water again overnight, no more clear slime thankfully. Did more research on the slime and read it could be a bacterial bloom. Either way, before adding I highly recommend you boil it before soaking only. Seems this clear slime is typical for Mopani wood pcs. For the price and the gorgeous wood you receive it is certainly worth the extra effort in my opinion. Great purchases on my part.
7-25-18 UPDATE Although I love these pieces of wood that I have received, 3 so far, the first piece that was by far the most beautiful piece still will not stop making a slime in my aquarium. I have boiled it now for 22 times and for hours, not minutes. I even ran it through the dishwasher 3 times (no soap) in hopes that there was something within it that I could "kill", either bacteria or other. However, after all of that within 3 days of being in my tank or a bucket of water it's dripping in white slime. It's truly gross beyond words. But....due to the incredible price and the fact that my other two pieces are fine and do not have this issue I can't justify knocking it down any stars in rating because it's still a great deal even though one will need to be thrown away. I'm so sad too because it was by far the most beautiful piece of all three that I received. The one that is giving me so much grief looks similar to the one in the picture, very intricate. The other two pieces that ordered after are all flat, although still beautiful. I just can't understand why only 1 piece would behave this way but I suppose it's hard to predict what a natural item might do. Sighhhh....I really loved that first piece.

i have to admit, i was not too impressed with the wood when it arrived. it does have a nice colors but (in my opinion) was just a slab of wood without much character to it. it can not stand on its own, not 3 dimensional. I did have to spend some time to "make it work" in the aquarium.
i boiled it for 2 hours, then soaked it in cold water for 2 hours, then boiled again for 4 hours.
First boil - water was dark brown. Second boil water was lighter.
I placed wood in the aquarium 12 hours after boiling it. Pictures of aquarium are 5 hours after placing the wood (water is not tanned).
As i mentioned above, i had to "work" the wood a bit to make it look good. I placed some plants on it to jazz it up a bit.... Withing 20 minutes of placing the wood in aquarium, my shy pleco was on it and enjoying it thoroughly. Beta loves it as well.
In summary, i liked the purchase and if you are willing to take a gamble - go for it!
an update: i bought Medium size for my larger aquarium. WOW, just WOW - lots of character, shaved at the bottom ( very easy to place in aquarium..... can't beat the price $10. Love is to much that ordered another medium peace.
